Free Electricity for Farmers on Cards: Madhya Pradesh CM
Speaking at the Agri-Industry Summit 2025, held at the district headquarters of Narasinghpur in Madhya Pradesh, the chief minister said the government is working on the plan to provide free electricity to the farmers in the state.

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav on Monday said free electricity for the farmers in the state is on the pipeline.
Speaking at the Agri-Industry Summit 2025, held at the district headquarters of Narasinghpur in Madhya Pradesh, the chief minister said the government is working on the plan to provide free electricity to the farmers in the state.
“The farmers in Madhya Pradesh will be free of the burden of electricity bills in the coming days”, he said.
He said a decision has been taken by his government to give electricity connection to the farmers at Rs five each.
Mr. Yadav said his government has implemented a scheme to provide solar pumps to the farmers.
Inaugurating the summit, vice president Jagdeep Dhankhar said agriculture is the foundation of India’s economy and the basis of the nation’s progress. Continuous development and innovation in the agriculture sector are essential for national prosperity.
“The well-being of our farmers, the providers of food to the nation, directly reflects the well-being of India”, he said.
He emphasized that India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation begins in its villages and agricultural fields.
He said the farmers must move beyond crop production and explore food processing, marketing and trade.
He exhorted the local MPs and MLAs to adopt villages and support farmers in becoming agri- entrepreneurs.
