Bhubaneswar: College Student Kidnapped, 4 Arrested for ₹50,000 Ransom Demand

Bhubaneswar: In a swift operation, the Bharatpur police in Bhubaneswar rescued a college student who had allegedly been abducted and arrested four educated youths for demanding a ransom of Rs 50,000 for his release.

According to police, the victim, a student of a private educational institution in the city, was kidnapped by the accused, who allegedly demanded money from his family in exchange for his freedom. Acting on a complaint lodged by the student's relatives, investigators launched a coordinated operation and successfully traced his whereabouts.

The student was rescued on Tuesday evening unharmed, while all four accused were apprehended during subsequent raids. Police officials said the accused are well-educated, making the incident particularly disturbing.

"The victim was rescued safely and all four accused have been arrested. Cash, weapons and other incriminating materials have been seized," a police official said.
