Fire Doused at Shop
Hyderabad: A fire broke out in a general store near Malkam Chetuvu dargah, Raidurgam. There were no casualties. A preliminary investigation said the cause of the fire was a short circuit. Raidurgam sub-inspector Mahesh said rapid response from the fire services helped douse the fire.
Watchman Murdered
Hyderabad: Jangaiah, watchman at scrap godown, was murdered by a construction worker, Arjun, 32, at Manchirevula in Rangareddy district, police said on Tuesday. Police said Arjun had complained to his employer about Jangaiah selling scrap without the owner's knowledge. On Monday, Jangaiah and Arjun consumed alcohol and the dispute escalated and Arjun fatally attacked Jangaiah.
Raja Singh Writes to DGP
Hyderabad: Goshamahal BJP MLA T. Raja Singh wrote to DGP Ravi Gupta alleging he has been receiving threatening calls from unknown persons warning him that he would be shot and his son kidnapped if he organized the Sri Ram Navami Shobha Yatra. He alleged that no action has been taken despite several oral and written complaints to the police authorities. Listing out the numbers from which the alleged calls were being made from January 14, he said: “I request immediate action into the matter as per law. So many complaints and representations in this regard have been given but no action has been taken so far.”
