FIR Filed Against TMC MP for Her Objectionable Remarks Against Union Home Minister
The TMC had purportedly made the objectionable statement against Mr. Shah while speaking to reporters in Nadia district in West Bengal on August 28.

Raipur: An FIR has been registered against Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra here for her alleged offensive remarks against Union home minister Amit Shah, police said on Sunday.
The FIR was filed in the Mana Camp police station here on Saturday evening against the TMC leader under sections 196 (promoting enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc) and 197 (imputations, assertions prejudicial to national integration) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on a complaint lodged by one Gopal Samanto, a local resident, police officer said.
Ms. Moitra has triggered an outrage when she allegedly said that if Mr. Shah fails to stop infiltration from Bangladesh ‘the first thing you should do is cut Amit Shah’s head and put it on your table’.
The TMC had purportedly made the objectionable statement against Mr. Shah while speaking to reporters in Nadia district in West Bengal on August 28.
The complainant said that such a statement, coming from a member of parliament, has not only hurt him but also scared him.
This was the first time an elected representative of the country’s highest legislative body gave a call to kill the Union home minister, the complainant said.
This was a warning to all the peaceful citizens of the country that anyone who spoke about the infiltration from Bangladesh will have to pay with one’s life, the complaint said.
The complainant said that he himself belonged to Bengali society and feared that such a statement may generate hatred against the society, leading to attack on them.
The complainant alleged that the TMC leader has put the lives of the people of the society at risk by making such a statement for her self-interest.
