A fresh online discussion has emerged over the Union Public Service Commission's (UPSC) Civil Service Exam (CSE) results, which were released recently.
With Poorva Choudhary, who secured All India Rank 533 being the centre of the discussion.
A reel on Instagram, posted by Poorva's sister Navya Saharan triggered the whole debate that split the internet. Celebrating the results, Navya shared a reel with a caption, "Sibling goals? One cracked the most difficult exam in our country. The other's writing this caption."
The reel quickly went viral and initially received positive responses. But netizens soon started raising doubts after they identified OBC - NCL (Other Backward Class - Non-creamy layer) in Poorva's rank card.
The comments on the video soon turned bitter as the comment section was flooded with negative ones.
Users wrote, "Next Puja Khedkar," "Face card nhi dear, daddy card," "Under scrutiny candidate." Amidst all the discussions, Poorva's father Omprakash Saharan, who currently serves as an Additional District Collector in Rajasthan strongly objected to the concerns raised online.
“In the case of direct RAS (Rajasthan Administrative Service) recruitment before the age of 40, the OBC NCL benefit does not apply. I became an RAS officer at 44. So, the claim that my daughter misused the certificate is completely untrue,” Saharan said while speaking to a popular media house.
However, social media users also pointed to her lavish lifestyle, which she showcased in her posts.
With lot of negativity, Poorva Choudhary disabled her Instagram account.
