VIJAYAWADA: Former MLA and YSRC senior leader Kasu Mahesh Reddy criticised the coalition government in the state, calling it a faction-driven regime that is misusing power to silence the Opposition. He alleged that the government was attempting to suppress the dissent voices by foisting false and arresting those close to Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy under the guise of liquor scam, which he claims is untrue.

Speaking to the media here on Sunday, Mahesh accused Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of ruling the state with political vengeance and fear, using the police like his party workers. He said that even honest officials such as former IAS Dhanunjaya Reddy and OSD Krishna Mohan Reddy were being jailed without any evidence. He warned that those currently misusing power would be held accountable once the YSRC returns to power in the state.

The previous government kept liquor sales in public hands, but now they are in the control of ruling party leaders, he alleged, adding that the government had failed to fulfill any promise in its first year in power and is facing increasing public discontent. The coalition government is frightened by the growing public support for the YSRC, which driving its misuse of power, he said.
