Hyderabad: The GHMC in coordination with revenue authorities demolished four illegal structures that had mushromed on the footpaths at the JNTU Rythu Bazar, and near the tahsildar office in Kukatpally.
All the structures were commercial establishments, two of them had concrete portions including steps of the shops. All these were demolished using an excavator. The other two establishments were running from temporary sheds.
Dozens of pushcarts operating from footpaths were also removed.
Similarly, in Pasumamula of Abdullapurmet mandal, Rangareddy district, revenue officials demolished unauthorised structures built on government land in Survey No. 422. “Around 20 guntas of government land was encroached and sheds were put up. We demolished them on Monday,” said an official from the revenue department.
