Guild says it is “deeply disturbed” by police action over journalist Anjum’s reportage, urges respect for press freedom
The Editors Guild criticised the FIR against a journalist in Bihar, calling it disproportionate and a threat to journalistic freedom.
In a statement, the Guild said that it was "deeply disturbed" by the filing of an FIR against the journalist while reporting in Bihar. "The Editors Guild does not seek to defend or refute the contents of Anjum's reportage. However, the registration of an FIR for what appears to be a legitimate journalistic exercise seems excessive," the statement said.
