ED Failed to Intimidate Congress: Kharge
The Congress party will hold “Samvidhan Bachao” rallies across all states from April 25-30

New Delhi: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday convened a meeting of senior office-bearers in New Delhi to launch a nationwide “Samvidhan Bachao” campaign and strengthen party cadres in line with resolutions from last week’s AICC session in Ahmedabad.
The party will hold “Samvidhan Bachao” rallies across all states from April 25-30, followed by door-to-door outreach, with district observers appointed by May 31, complemented by Assembly‑segment rallies to promote social, political and economic justice, and daily press conferences in state capitals on the National Herald case.
Kharge vowed that recent Enforcement Directorate actions against the party leadership would not intimidate Congress workers, pointing out that the names of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi had been included in the ED chargesheet as part of “a big conspiracy,” but stressing that “no matter whose name they put, we are not going to be afraid.”
He condemned the attachment of National Herald properties in Delhi, Lucknow and Mumbai days before the chargesheet as “an act of vendetta” and defended Young Indian — a not-for-profit under Associated Journals Limited — as protected from asset seizure, asserting that “BJP leaders are misleading the people by lying. We have to tell the truth to the public.” Kharge also alleged that the timing of the ED action was “no coincidence,” likening it to raids before the Raipur plenary aimed at undermining Congress leadership.
