EC Favouring Opposition Alliance, Charges YSRC Legal Cell
Vijayawada: YSRC Party legal cell state president Manohar Reddy on Saturday accused the Election Commission of India (ECI) of being biased towards the NDA alliance in AP led by former chief minister and TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Addressing media at YSRC’s central party office on Saturday, Manohar Reddy pointed out that they have complained to the Election Commission several times against Chandrababu for violating the election rules.
They had also lodged a complaint with ECI over Nara Bhuvaneswari, spouse of the TDP chief, for disbursing ₹3 lakh to several people in the name of aid. Further, the commission has not taken any action even though alliance leaders Pawan Kalyan and N. Lokesh have made comments of criminal nature against Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, provoking their cadre to pelt stones and kill the CM.
The YSRC legal cell president said the inaction of ECI can only mean that the commission is biased towards the opposition MDA alliance.
“We have no confidence that the elections will be held peacefully,” he remarked.
