Drunk Rickshaw Driver Drags Woman Constable For 200 Metres In Satara

A shocking case of assault on a policewoman has emerged from Maharashtra’s Satara district, where a drunk autorickshaw driver dragged a woman traffic police constable for nearly 200 metres while recklessly hitting several vehicles on the way. The incident occurred on Monday in the Molacha Odha area and was caught on CCTV cameras installed at nearby shops.
The victim, identified as constable Bhagyashree Jadhav, was on duty when she noticed the accused driving dangerously near Khandobacha Maal. When she attempted to stop the autorickshaw, the driver allegedly grabbed her collar and pushed her. In the scuffle, Jadhav’s raincoat got entangled in the rear of the vehicle, leaving her trapped and dragged along the road.
Shocked commuters and bystanders witnessed the harrowing scene as the rickshaw sped through traffic. Several vehicles were hit during the incident before the driver was finally stopped.
Police officials confirmed that the accused was intoxicated at the time of the incident and has been taken into custody. An FIR has been registered, and further investigation is underway. Authorities said constable Jadhav sustained injuries but is currently out of danger.
