Don't Try To Backstab Me; TMC MLA Warns Fellow Leader

"Don't try to backstab me. I didn't forget how you instigated some disgruntled people to malign my image by garlanding shoes on my effigy": Bharatpur MLA Humayun Kabir

BERHAMPORE: Bringing out Trinamul Congress’ internal feud in Murshidabad of West Bengal in the open, controversial Bharatpur MLA Humayun Kabir has cautioned his party district president and legislator from Kandi Apurba Sarkar against “backstabbing” him.

At a Bijoya Sammilani event in his constituency, Mr Kabir told Mr Sarkar, "Don't try to backstab me. I didn't forget how you instigated some disgruntled people to malign my image by garlanding shoes on my effigy. You must oil your machine to save your seat. You won four times from Kandi but if I wish you won't win again.”

He alleged, “So don't try to infuriate me like a cruel injured lion. If you try to injure my tail to disturb me, I won't spare you. This is my challenge to you, brother. I got two of your predecessors– Abu Taher Khan and Sayani Sinha Roy– removed from the district party president’s post.”

Mr Kabir then claimed, “I got two of your predecessors– Abu Taher Khan and Sayani Sinha Roy– removed from the district party president’s post. You will also go after the next Assembly Election across Padma River. Your mentors can't save you this time."

Mr Sarkar however said, "People are the best judges. They will give a fitting reply to whoever raised such undesired questions to draw public attention.”
