DGCA Issues Directives Against In-Flight Cell Phone Usage

DGCA stated that passengers are prohibited from taking photographs or video graphs, in the terminal, vehicle, and flight.

The Directorate General of Civil Association (DGCA) issued new guidelines to increase the security of the defense airport on the western border of India.

DGCA stated that passengers are prohibited from taking photographs or video graphs, in the terminal, vehicle, and flight. Cabin crews are also advised to declare the avoidance of photography or videography and closure of window shades.

The new directive affects the airports of Amritsar, Jammu, Srinagar, and Jaisalmer.

DGCA has also directed all the airlines to give special training to their ground staff and cabin crew, so they can fully comply with these safety standards. Passengers should be informed through every means, be it the boarding gate, terminal or inside the flight. The information should be displayed on screens and information boards.
According to the guidelines, the window shades of passengers will be kept down during take-off and landing. This rule will remain in effect throughout the time of take-off, taxing, pushback and until a flight crosses the height of 10,000 feet while taking off and when it reaches below the height of 10,000 feet.
Passengers are appealed to take these rules seriously and co-operate with the government and DGCA. Passengers found guilty of violating these rules will have to face legal proceedings.
