Hyderabad: The BRS on Saturday asked people not to pay the electricity bills that they will receive in February (for January) and demanded that the state government immediately implement its Gruha Jyoti scheme, under households will get 200 units of free power.
BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao called on people not to pay their electricity bills till the implementation of Gruha Jyoti scheme.
Addressing a meeting of party leaders from Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency, Rao told people “When you receive the bills, show the officials the Chief Minister’s statements that Sonia Gandhi will pay their bills. Send your bills to 10 Janpath (in New Delhi), where she lives. Every household in Hyderabad must be included in the Gruha Jyoti scheme.”
Criticising the Chief Minister, he said that Revanth Reddy, in a speech in London, had claimed that BRS will be buried 100 metres deep in the coming Lok Sabha elections. Instead of such talk, he should focus on implementing his party promises in 100 days. The BRS party, Rama Rao said, saw many “arrogant leaders come and go” and has stood strong for two decades and had shown such leaders their place.
