Who Is Ricky Gill, Trump's Indian-Origin Advisor, Awarded for Negotiating India-Pak Deal?
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio presented the award to Gill, which is among the NSC’s highest internal recognitions, acknowledging exceptional service in advancing US national security objectives

Even as India denies US mediation in the India-Pakistan conflict, the US government has honoured Ricky Gill, an Indian-origin advisor to President Donald Trump, with the National Security Council’s Distinguished Action Award for his role in “India-Pakistan ceasefire negotiations”.
Gill serves as a senior director for South and Central Asia and Special Assistant to the US President, and was appointed to the position when Trump came to power earlier this year. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio presented the award to Gill, which is among the NSC’s highest internal recognitions, acknowledging exceptional service in advancing US national security objectives.
Gill was also part of Trump's National Security Council during the first term, where he served as Director for Russia and European Energy Security at the NSC.
Born in New Jersey to parents Jasbir and Param Gill, he holds a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and a law degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
