The Kerala Story RSS Trap To Defame Kerala Says CM Pinarayi Vijayan

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday alleged that “The Kerala Story” is a film with a definite political motive and urged people not to fall into the trap of the RSS. He raised concerns about the film in the backdrop of Christian dioceses screening the movie in some parts of the state. “This film spreads lies about Kerala and portrays the state in a bad light. The RSS has a definite political agenda behind the film and there may be a special purpose in promoting this film at this time,” he said.

The Chief Minister said the RSS had copied Hitler’s idea. “In Germany, the Jews were the victims and in India, the Muslims and Christians are their targets,” he said.

The screening of “The Kerala Story” by Idukki diocese of the Syro-Malabar church for Class X and XII students triggered a major controversy. The Church defended the screening saying it was to create awareness among the teenagers about marriages.

Meanwhile, The Metropolitan of Niranam Diocese of Malankara Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church Geevarghese Mar Coorilos said that the stand taken by some churches on “The Kerala Story” issue was condemnable. “It is a proven fact that the phenomenon of love jihad does not exist in our country. There is no evidence of that. Love jihad is a false story. Some forces are deliberately trying to spread the culture and politics of hatred and suspicion by creating such a myth. Screening of such a film at the time of elections will send a wrong message to society,” he said.
