SW Monsoon Advances Into Bay Of Bengal, Andaman Sea
AP may have early onset like last year

Last year, the monsoon entered Andamans on May 19, six days ahead of the schedule.
The IMD has forecast that the monsoon system will touch Kerala on May 27, against the normal date of June 1. This indicates that the monsoons will arrive in Andhra Pradesh sometime around June 1 or 2. Last year, it entered the state on June 2.
A report from IMD, AP, said conditions are favourable for further advance of the South-West Monsoon over some parts of south Arabian Sea, Maldives and Comorin area; some more parts of south Bay of Bengal, entire Andaman and Nicobar Islands, remaining parts of Andaman Sea; and some parts of central Bay of Bengal during the next three to four days.
Private weather website Skymet said the monsoon current has arrived almost a week in advance over the region. It said a perturbation as cyclonic circulation is likely to form over south-central Bay of Bengal around May 16, which will further enhance the strength and speed of the monsoon current.
The advancement of monsoon over Sri Lanka and central parts of Bay of Bengal may precede its normal date of May 26.
There are enough indications that the monsoon is likely to arrive over mainland Kerala before the scheduled date of June 1. This may be the earliest arrival of monsoon since 2009.
