Modi Shares Bilateral Relations Vision With Xi's Confidant Cai

According to reports, Cai is one of the most powerful and influential Communist Party leaders in China currently

New Delhi: In an interesting development highlighting the fresh reset in Sino-Indian ties, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with member of the standing committee of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China Cai Qi. New Delhi said, “The Prime Minister shared with Mr Cai his vision for bilateral relations and sought his support to realize the vision of the two leaders. Mr Cai reiterated the Chinese side's desire to expand bilateral exchanges and further improve relations in line with the consensus reached between the two leaders (PM Modi and President Xi Jinping).”

According to reports, Cai is a confidant and ally of President Xi and has his complete trust. According to these reports, Cai is one of the most powerful and influential Communist Party leaders in China currently.

At a media briefing in the evening, foreign secretary Vikram Misri said Cai was scheduled to hold a separate reception for Modi as a special gesture but that due to scheduling issues, it couldn’t take place. It was then decided to hold a meeting between PM Modi and Cai.
