J&K Police Raid Multiple Locations Across Valley in Cyber Terror Case

The officials said that as part of its investigations into the cyber terror case, the CIK carried out raids at 22 locations in the Kashmir valley

Srinagar: Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK), the specialised investigative arm of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, on Wednesday carried out a major crackdown, raiding 22 locations across the Valley as part of an ongoing probe into mule bank accounts allegedly used for cyber fraud and terror financing. More than 15 of these searches were conducted in Srinagar alone, officials said.

According to officials, the coordinated raids were executed simultaneously across multiple districts. The operation is linked to a wider cyber‑terror investigation aimed at uncovering individuals and networks suspected of funnelling illicit money through layers of mule accounts to support unlawful activities.

During the searches, CIK teams seized several digital devices, financial records, and other incriminating documents. Officials said the material will be examined to trace the flow of funds and dismantle financial channels believed to be facilitating cyber‑enabled terror operations.

Meanwhile, a report from New Delhi said Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to chair a high‑level security review meeting on Thursday. The meeting, to be held in the national capital, will be attended by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs, top officers from paramilitary forces, intelligence agencies, and senior members of the civil and police administration of the Union Territory.

The discussions are expected to centre on the overall security landscape in J&K, with a particular focus on counter‑terrorism strategies, border management, and law‑and‑order preparedness. Senior officers will brief the Home Minister on recent counter‑terror operations, measures taken to strengthen border security, and steps implemented during the winter months to prevent infiltration attempts along the Line of Control and the International Border with Pakistan.
