Govt to check options to raise revenue: Bhatti

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Thursday Bhatti said the government would explore alternative options to enhance revenue earnings without burdening the people, even as he initiated the process to prepare the Budget for 2024-25.

At a pre-budget meeting, Bhatti said the Congress government was committed to implementing the Six Guarantees by mobilising required the financial resources. He asked officials for expenditure details on various schemes during 2023-24, including data on farmers' insurance, crop insurance, Rythu Bandhu, oil palm cultivation, paddy procurement and drip irrigation. He will hold similar meetings over the next 10 days.

He held meetings with ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Tummala Nagesawara Rao, special chief secretary, finance, K. Ramakrishna Rao and senior officials from the revenue, housing, information and public relations, agriculture, marketing, handlooms, textiles, horticulture, and cooperation departments.
