Having a tagline that says “Think, Research, Resist,” the original account maker remains anonymous but the founder name mentions “A Dimagi Indian.”

New Delhi: CJP (Cockroach Janta Party) is a passé; DNP (Dimagi Naxal Party) is the new entrant online that is trending. Founded as a satire, parody account on Instagram, OMG, the DNP has close to five lakh followers within three days of its birth as it questions the government on its policies and spending by digging out data.
Having a tagline that says “Think, Research, Resist,” the original account maker remains anonymous but the founder name mentions “A Dimagi Indian.”
“Dimag Use Karna aata hai. We know how to use our mind. So we will not be revealing the founder as of now. Founder and Team will be revealed once Instagram touches the 1million milestone… It’s a Faceless Platform till then- “Of the People, For The People & By the People” DNP’s post on its X handle says.
DNP has a presence on X also as DNJP (Dimagi Naxal Janta Party) under username @DNJP_India with over 22000 followers. Both accounts have been shadow banned on Instagram and X by the government, limiting its visibility.
DNP came into existence a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi used the term “Dimagi Naxal” in his Independence Day speech at Red Fort. Within a day the account had close to two lakh followers with a condition saying "You can join our party only if you can disagree with your own leaders.”
“The armed Naxalites have been defeated, but the Naxal mindset (Dimagi Naxal). These forces are looking for opportunities. They are searching for paths of violence and anarchy, and are employing various tactics to drag society onto the wrong path. We must identify this Naxal mindset (Dimagi Naxal). We must isolate such elements and connect the country's young generation with the mainstream path of building a developed nation,” PM had said.
Shortly after his speech, this online page sprang up on Instagram having sarcastic videos of youngsters saying that this new name has been given by the PM Modi because the youth is questioning the government too much.
“Dimag Use Karo. Question their Narrative” the logo says and flags words like propaganda, hate, anti-national, bias, fake news, division, victim card and urban naxals while favouring facts, logic, patriotism, unity, freedom of thought, and Constitution first as its motto.
Responding to a comment on X, that quoting George Orwell said that ‘every joke is a tiny revolution’ DNP said, “George Orwell also said that ‘thought criminal is a person who holds beliefs, doubts, or ideas that go against the ruling party and its leader.’ Now the Dimagi Naxal Party has begun…..” while referring to Orwell’s famous novel 1984.
Since the accounts are being shadow banned, the Gen Z has put QR codes asking people to scan and spread. The fun has just begun. It follows 38, interestingly majority are the leaders from the CJP student’s movement.
PM’s remarks “Dimagi Naxal” drew strong criticism from the Opposition. Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram said, "I am proud to be a Dimagi Naxal" prompting a clarification from Union Minister Kiren Rijiju who said PM Modi was not targeting the Opposition leaders those who support Maoist ideology, reject the Constitution, and back separatism.
