Enhanced Railway Ticket Fares To Come Into Effect From Today
Second class non-AC fares have been revised in slabs, with no increase for distances up to 215 km. Passengers travelling between 216 km and 750 km will pay an additional Rs 5, while those covering 751 km to 1,250 km will see a Rs 10 increase

HYDERABAD: The enhanced railway ticket fares announced earlier this week will come into effect from Friday, according to the South Central Railway.
Second class non-AC fares have been revised in slabs, with no increase for distances up to 215 km. Passengers travelling between 216 km and 750 km will pay an additional Rs 5, while those covering 751 km to 1,250 km will see a Rs 10 increase. Journeys between 1,251 km and 1,750 km will cost Rs 15 more, and distances from 1,751 km to 2,250 km will cost
Rs 20 more.
Sleeper class and first class fares will increase by one paisa per passenger kilometre. Mail and express non-AC classes, including second class, sleeper class and first class, will see an increase of two paisa per passenger kilometre. A similar two-paisa per kilometre increase applies to all AC classes, including chair car, AC 3-tier or 3E, AC 2-tier and AC first class, executive class and executive Anubhuti.
The SCR stated that the existing basic fares of services such as Tejas Rajdhani, Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, Vande Bharat, Humsafar, Amrit Bharat, Tejas, Mahamana, Garib Rath, Jan Shatabdi, Yuva Express, ordinary services other than suburban coach have been revised to the extent of the class-wise increases notified in the revised fare table.
There will be no change in reservation fee or superfast surcharge, and rounding off of fares will follow the current principles. Other terms and conditions will remain unchanged. Tickets issued before the revision date will not be affected. The revised fares will apply only to journeys on or after December 26.
