ECM Scheme: Govt. Cleared 31 Investment Proposals Worth Rs 7,877 cr

New Delhi: The government on Monday said that it has cleared 31 proposals worth Rs 7,877 crore investments under electronics component manufacturing scheme. The move of the government aims at scaling up the production in fabrication, assembly, testing and semiconductors among others in the country’s electronic ecosystems, according to a top government official.
Announcing the proposals, the IT secretary S Krishnan said that currently, the government has cleared almost 31 fresh applications, which have been dealt with in this particular session or in this particular gathering, and totally, the investment that we are talking about is Rs 7,877 crore. “We have received a total investment proposal of Rs 69,548 crore, against a target of Rs 59,350 crore,” he said while speaking in an event here.

The event was jointly organised by Elcina and the ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY) in the national capital. The approved proposals include those of GX Group, Centum Electronics, Ennovi Mobility Solutions, Allied Engineering Works, Globe Capacitors, Syrma SGS Technology, Rosenberger Interconnect, Sensata Technologies, and Britannia RFID Technologies, among others.
