Delhi Police Enter CPI(M) HQ AKG Bhavan, Tries To Arrest Aishe Gosh
Delhi police allegedly entered AKG Bhavan in plain clothes and were questioned by Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas, later they left without arresting Aishe Gosh

New Delhi: Days after the Union Government assured that the students took part of the student protests in Delhi will not be targeted, Delhi Police, on Tuesday allegedly forced their way into the CPI(M) HQ, AKG Bhavan, in efforts to arrest SFI leader Aishe Gosh, who was at the forefront of the movement.
In a video released by the CPIM CC’s Instagram account, the police officers are seen inside the party HQ, in the lookout for the student leader, and were stopped and questioned by CPI(M) Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas.
The police allegedly entered the AKG Bhavan in plain clothes and were told to come back in full uniform by the Rajya Sabha MP, and later they left without arresting the student leader, due to the party’s resistance. John Brittas alleged that the police officers who entered the Party office did not wear uniforms nor did they have identity name badges.
John Brittas alleged that the Delhi Police was out to take revenge on the student leader, by taking out an old case and putting her behind bars.
Aishe Was At Jantar Mantar Protest Front
The Delhi police was trying to arrest her on a previous case that was registered against her, as the union government has agreed to drop all charges on her over the recent student movement against the Union Education minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Aishe Gosh is currently the national Joint Secretary of the Students Federation of India (SFI) and is the former students union president of JNU. She had gone on hunger strike at the Jantar Mantar protest site, along with fellow SFI, AISA, AISF activists in solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk.
Aishe Gosh is also running a public interest litigation case at the Delhi High Court, challenging the alleged “indiscriminate and intrusive surveillance” of protesters at Jantar Mantar.
Witch Hunt Against Students, Says CPI(M) Gen Sec
CPI(M) General Secretary MA Baby Said that the Delhi Police’s witch hunt against the protesting students is deplorable, and the party would resist these actions at any cost.
“Even the Supreme Court has criticised and even set up an SIT to investigate the police excess from the side of Delhi police upon the protesting students. But the Delhi Police is acting in a way that these investigations are not applicable to them. The acts by the police of Modi and Amit Shah will be strongly resisted by the proletarian party, we will lead a strong fight against this police raj,” MA Baby said.
