Delhi Court Dismisses Kavitha’s Interim Bail Plea

Hyderabad: The Rouse Avenue district court on Monday dismissed the interim bail plea of MLC K. Kavitha.

The BRS leader was arrested by Enforcement Directorate (ED) from her residence here on March 15 in connection with the Delhi liquor policy scam, filed an interim bail plea before the court on the grounds that she had to be with her minor son during his annual exams.

The court heard arguments from Kavitha and ED's counsels and had posted the judgement to April 8. On Monday, the court dismissed the plea.

Kavitha is lodged in Tihar prison in Delhi. Earlier, she had filed a petition that even though the court directed the jail authorities to provide basic facilities, the staff had refused to oblige.

ED officials were against granting interim bail to her as she could influence witnesses and tamper evidence.
