The incident took place in a local residential colony under Sarkanda police station in Bilaspur district, police said.

Raipur: A 13-year-old boy in Bilaspur, nearly 120 km from here, has been detained for allegedly killing a five-year-old girl when she resisted his attempt to rape her, police said on Wednesday.
The incident took place in a local residential colony under Sarkanda police station in Bilaspur district, police said.
The victim went missing on Monday evening and her body was found in an under-construction house in the colony on Tuesday morning, police said.
According to the police, a labourer spotted the body on the roof of an under-construction house on Tuesday morning and immediately informed the victim’s father about it.
Later, the victim’s father reported the matter to the Sarkanda police and rushed the girl to the nearby hospital where she was declared dead.
Bilaspur district superintendent of police (SP) Rajneesh Singh along with a team of policemen visited the spot for enquiry.
“More than 50 people including the boy were detained for questioning in connection with the incident. The boy was detained after he was found from CCTV footage taking the girl to the under-construction house”, police said.
According to the police, the boy took the girl to the under-construction house by luring her with chocolate.
He then tried to rape her which was resisted by her.
Following this, the boy attacked her with a brick and wooden stick, leading to her death.
“The boy was addicted to watching porn videos and confessed to the crime”, Mr Singh said.
