15 Schools In Delhi Get Bomb Threats

New Delhi: At least a dozen schools across the national capital received bomb threat emails on Monday, triggering heightened security measures, precautionary evacuations and searches by multiple agencies. Of the threats received so far, eight were later declared hoaxes, officials said.
According to Delhi Fire Services, emergency calls were received from several educational institutions across different parts of the city during the morning hours. Fire tenders and bomb disposal squads were immediately dispatched to the affected locations.
“A total of 15 schools have reported receiving bomb threats so far. Fire service teams reached the premises and thorough checks were conducted. Eight of these threats have been found to be hoaxes,” a DFS official said.
The threatening email contained provocative content and also claimed that a blast would take place inside Parliament on February 13 at 1.11 pm, leading to enhanced alerts and coordination among security agencies.
Schools that received the threat emails include Loreto Convent School in Delhi Cantonment; Cambridge School at Srinivaspuri and New Friends Colony; The Indian School at Sadiq Nagar; DTEA School at INA and Lodhi Road; Venkateshwar Global School in Rohini; CM SHRI School in Rohini and Shalimar Bagh; Aadharshila Vidyapeeth in Pitampura; Modern Public School and Jaspal Kaur Public School in Shalimar Bagh; Manav Sthali School in New Rajendra Nagar; Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalayas in Dwarka; and Bal Bharati School in Rohini.
As a precaution, school premises were evacuated and students and staff were moved to safe locations. Bomb detection and disposal squads, along with dog squads, conducted detailed searches at the campuses.
Senior police officers said cyber teams had been pressed into service to trace the origin of the email. Security arrangements at sensitive locations across the capital were also reviewed.
No suspicious objects were recovered from any of the school premises till late evening, officials said, adding that investigations were continuing.
