AP Assembly polls: TDP releases second list of 34 candidates

Vijayawada: Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu released the party’s second list of candidates for 34 Assembly segments in AP through his social media page on Thursday. The names of 16 more Assembly candidates, as also of LS nominees, are yet to be announced by the party.

Naidu noted that the first list of contestants had already been released. “The lists were finalised after taking opinions from the general public also. I appeal to the people to bless all the TD contestants and help them win the polls,” he said.

Out of the 34 candidates, 27 are men and seven women. Two are young, between 25-35 years, eight are aged between 36-45 years, 19 in between 46-60 years, three in between 61-75 years. Only two are above age 75.

As for their educational qualifications, one has PhD, 11 have PG degrees, nine are graduates, eight passed Intermediate and eight others studied upto high school level.

The candidates and their constituencies are:

Raju-Chodavaram, Pyla Prasad-Madugula, Varapula Satyaprabha-Prathipadu, Vasamsetti Subhash-Ramachandrapuram, Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary-Rajahmundry Rural, Miryala Sireesha-Rampachodavaram (ST), Muppidi Venkateswara Rao-Kovvur (SC), Chinthamaneni Prabhakar-Denduluru, Maddipati Venkata Raju-Gopalapuram (SC), Bhashyam Praveen-Pedakurapadu, Piduguralla Madhavi-Guntur West, Mohammad Nazeer-Guntur East, Yerapathineni Srinivasa Rao-Gurajala, Inturi Nageshwar Rao-Kandukur, Kandula Narayana Reddy-Markapuram, Ashok Reddy-Giddalur, Anam Rama Narayana-Atmakur, Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy-Kovur, Kurugondla Lakshmi Sai Priya-Venkatagiri, Putha Chaitanya Reddy-Kamalapuram, Varadarajulu Reddy-Proddatur, Githa Jayasurya-Nandikotkur (SC), Jaya Nageshwar Reddy-Yemmaganur, Raghavendra Reddy-Mantralayam, Palle Sindhura Reddy-Puttaparthi, Kandikunta Yashoda Devi-Kadiri, Shahjahaan Basha-Madanapalle, Challa Reamachandra Reddy-Punganur, Pulivarthy Venkataramana Prasad-Chandragiri, Bojanapati Venkata Sudheer Reddy-Srikalahasti, Koneti Admuam-Satyavedu (SC) and Dr Kalikiri Murali Mohan-Puthalapattu (SC).

The TD had named the candidates for 94 Assembly segments in the first list. By now, the party covered a total of 128 Assembly segments out of the total 175 seats for which polls would be held in April-May.

The TD would contest a total of 144 Assembly segments while its ally the JS 21 and BJP 10 seats.


The TD is yet to announce the names of contestants for 17 Lok Sabha segments. Both JS and BJP got two and six LS segments respectively for the contest, out of the total 25. All these names are yet to be announced.
