Existing Beneficiaries Need Not Apply Again, Says CM on Praja Palana

Hyderabad: Putting to rest confusion surrounding the submission of application forms under the Praja Palana initiative, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday said that beneficiaries who have been receiving Aasara pensions and Rythu Bandhu aid need not apply afresh.

Holding a review with Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari and other senior officials at the Secretariat, Revanth Reddy said the existing beneficiaries would continue to get these benefits and asked only those who were not covered earlier to submit applications to get Cheyutha pensions and Rythu Bharosa. “People should not get confused in this matter,” he said.

Revanth Reddy also expressed anger over the sale of applications by touts and photocopy centres for Rs 100, directing officials to make available the necessary number of forms for free.

The Chief Minister also enquired with officials the details of grama sabhas and ward sabhas held so far — since the commencement of Praja Palana on December 28 — details of applications and the status of their processing.

Revanth Reddy directed officials not to create difficulties for the public
in submitting forms, directing district collectors to take stringent action
against touts selling forms.

He suggested the participation of public representatives in the programme for the smooth conduct of proceedings.

Officials were also asked to provide drinking water and erect tents for
people attending the sabhas or waiting in lines to submit applications.
