New Year celebrations: Bars, pubs in Hyderabad told to adhere to Covid-19 guidelines

Hyderabad: Cyberabad police have warned the management of bars and pubs to strictly adhere to the guidelines issued by the police and government with regard to drunk driving and Covid-19 protocol during the New Year celebration.

Traffic officials said that the drivers and operators of cabs, taxis and autorickshaws shall be in uniform and carry all their documents. "They shall not refuse rides on hire to the public. A penalty of Rs 500 will be imposed in the form of e-challan on such refusal to ply,” said Traffic DCP S.M.Vijay Kumar.

Kumar held a meeting with the representatives of bars and pubs on Thursday and warned them not to allow entry to minors in their premises. He directed them to take safety measures to avoid any untoward incidents.

He said extensive checking for drunk driving would be taken up on December 31 night.

Traffic restrictions

Cyberabad police said the Outer Ring Road and PVNR Expressway will be closed for light motor vehicles except those bound towards the airport, from 10 pm to 5 am.

The flyovers at the following places will be closed from 11 pm on December 31 to 5 am on January 1
