VIsakhapatnam: Four members of a tribal family attempted suicide by consuming pesticide at Chandrayyapalem village in K. Kotapadu mandal in Visakhapatnam district on Sunday.
While two children and their father died on the spot, the condition of their mother is said to be serious. Their neighbours shifted her to King George Hospital and she has been kept on a ventilator.
According to the police, the family might had taken the extreme step due to financial crisis. A case has been registered and investigation is on.
The deceased have been identified as Pangi Lakshmana Rao, 30, Pangi Siddhu, 6, and Pangi Veena, 3.
The couple belongs to Anantagiri village in Visakha Agency. Recently, they moved to Chandrayyapalem along with their children to work at a poultry farm for a livelihood.
