Hyderabad: Hussainsagar roads to be closed

Traffic from VV Statue towards Necklace Road, NTR Marg will be diverted towards Khairatabad, Raj Bhavan Road.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad police commissioner Anjani Kumar has imposed restrictions on vehicular traffic around the Hussainsagar on New Year’s Eve. Vehicles will not be allowed on NTR Marg, Necklace Road and Tank Bund from 11 pm on Monday to 2 am on Tuesday. The restrictions are as follows:

Traffic from VV Statue towards Necklace Road, NTR Marg will be diverted towards Khairatabad, Raj Bhavan Road.

Traffic from BRK Bhavan towards NTR Marg will be diverted at Telugu Talli Junction towards Iqbal Minar, Lakdikapul, Ayodhya.

Traffic from Liberty Jn. towards Tank Bund will be diverted at GHMC Office ‘Y’ Junction towards BRK Bhavan, Telugu Talli, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharati, Lakdikapul and Ayodhya.

Traffic from Khairatabad market towards Necklace Road Rotary will be diverted at Khairatabad (Bada Ganesh) towards Sensation Theatre, Rajdoot lane, Lakdikapul.

Mint compound lane adjacent to Secretariat will be closed for general traffic.

Traffic coming from Nallagutta railway bridge towards Sanjeevaiah Park and Necklace Road will be diverted towards Karbala Maidan or Ministers Road.

Traffic coming from Secunderabad will be diverted at Sailing Club towards Kavadiguda crossroads, Lower Tank Bund, Kattamaisamma temple, Ashoknagar, RTC crossroads.

Except Begumpet Flyover, all flyovers will be closed for traffic.

Buses and heavy vehicles will not be allowed within the city till 2 am on January 1. Mr Kumar said the traffic police will undertake extensive checks to curb drunk driving, speeding and triple riding on two wheelers and other traffic violations.
