Hyderabad: The Congress has condemned MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi for accusing an erstwhile Congress government of allowing the demolition of a mosque at Muttangi village in Medak district in 2005. Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee (GHCC) minorities department chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail said the charge was “baseless and misleading.”
“Asaduddin Owaisi is trying to wrongly link the Congress with the incident of demolition of Muthangi mosque during the widening of the national highway. He might have forgotten that the MIM was an ally of Congress in 2005, not only in the State, but also at the Centre. Why Mr Owaisi did not level this allegation in 2005 itself and why did he enjoy power for over eight years after the incident?” he asked.
