DMK president’s poser to CM Edappadi on Sujith tragedy

Stalin posed eight questions to the CM and urged him to reply with conscience.

Chennai: DMK president M.K. Stalin has urged Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami to give up his arrogant outbursts and answer questions arising following death of Sujit as people are in the height of anger. In a statement Stalin on Wednesday said the CM should answer the queries with conscience and cannot escape by saying everything as false.

He said “the CM becomes angry when I raise the questions on why the government was negligent in rescuing Sujit. I raised the question as a common man and not as a scientist”.

Stalin posed eight questions to the CM and urged him to reply with conscience. Soon after Sujit fell into the borewell, the news spread like wildfire on social media and TV channels. NDRF, SDRF and 10 other rescue teams reached the spot on October 25 at 5.30 pm. Tiruchy Collector permitted each team to conduct the rescue operation by giving them an hour each to them. Stalin asked why the collector experimented such move when the child was battling for life in the borewell. Stalin asked why the health minister ordered digging a borewell in rocky terrain. Why the NDRF was invited six hours after the child fell into the borewell? The NDRF personnel, who are stationed at Arakkonam could have been airlifted to the spot. But they reached the spot after a delay of 12 hours.

He asked why the NDRF was invited only after SDRF failed in the operation. The spokesperson of NDRF informed the media that the team was not specialised in retrieving persons from borewell. Under this circumstance, what is stand of the government? Stalin asked.

Commissioner of Revenue Administration, Disaster Management and Mitigation, J Radhakrishnan reached the spot on October 27. Till then why the CM permitted health minister to supervise the rescue operation? Stalin asked.

Why J. Radhakrishnan, who is commander of SDRF and NDRF, reached the spot only on October 27? Stalin asked.
