Steps to irrigate tail end of seema: Chandrababu Naidu

Sweet orange orchards did not suffer water deficit even during summer months in Kadapa District, Mr Naidu said.

Anantapur: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said that not even a single piece of horticultural land had been left to wither during the last two years in Kadapa district, due to releasing surplus Krishna water through Owk Reservoir towards Gandikota reservoir.

Mr Naidu confidently said that he had initiated steps to provide irrigation to the tail end parts of Rayalaseema region by interlinking Godavari-Krishna Rivers. “The Gandikota reservoir has 12 TMC ft of water in the present season. Sweet orange orchards did not suffer water deficit even during summer months in Kadapa District,” Mr Naidu said.

Minister for panchayat raj and IT Nara Lokesh criticised YSRC chief Jagan Mohan Reddy and Jana Sena chief and said they were acting according to the directions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
