Hyderabad High Court seeks information on Commando
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday directed the Centre to place the details before it by November 13 with regard to extending financial assistance to K. Sriramulu, a National Security Guards Commando, who has been bedridden since following severe injuries in the terrorist attack in Pathankote.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice S.V. Bhatt while dealing with a suo motu PIL on the pathetic condition of K. Sri Ramulu of Warangal district. Mr K. Lakshman, assistant solicitor-general, submitted that Commando Sriramulu is continuing in service and being paid regularly besides providing medical facilities and allowance for his children’s education.
He said that a decision on compensation to be paid to him is yet to be taken.
Mr B.S. Prasad, advocate-general of Telangana state, told the court that the government has allotted a house site to the Commando’s family and the government is proposing to bear the cost of the construction also. Commando Sriramulu, an expert in defusing bombs, sustained severe injuries to his hand and right eye in the terror attack on Pathankote Airbase in 2016 and due to injuries he remained to the bed.
