After late night parties, home stays now into flesh trade?

The police have not ruled out the involvement of influential persons in the prostitution racket.

Chikkamagaluru: In the midst of concerns raised by wildlife conservationists about home stays in Chikkamagaluru hosting late night parties and illegally serving liquor in violation of rules, sleuths of the District Crime Investigation Bureau (DCIB) busted an alleged prostitution racket being run at an unauthorised home stay in Uluvagilu village on Saturday.

Acting on a tip-off, the DCIB sleuths raided the Malnad Home Stay owned by one Mr Narayan Gowda of the same village and took two women and two men into their custody.

Among those detained are the owner’s 43 year old wife. The two men taken into custody are both residents of Belur taluk in Hassan.

The police also seized Rs 13,000 in cash from the home stay. It is alleged that girls from Chikkamagaluru and surrounding places are brought to the home stay for prostitution. One Vinay Naidu, who allegedly supplies the girls, is said to be absconding after the raid on the home stay. He is reportedly a commission agent at the City Municipal Council of Chikkamagaluru and has links with many top politicians of the district.

The police have not ruled out the involvement of influential persons in the prostitution racket.
