Hyderabad: Office boy steals gold, held
Hyderabad: A 24-year-old man working as an office boy at Annapurna Studios was arrested by the Banjara Hills police on Thursday for stealing gold ornaments from a female employee’s desk.
Police recovered the gold worth Rs 4 lakh from his house in Kamalpuri Colony and produced him before court.
According to Banjara Hills police, K. Lokeshwari, an employee of Annapurna Studios, lodged a complaint on Wednesday, stating that she had kept four gold chains, six rings, two gold bangles and a bracelet, all worth '4 lakh in her office drawer.
She later found that it went missing and suspected that somebody in the office would have stolen them.
During the investigation, the CCTV footage was analysed and the suspect was identified as Pilli Ramesh, who works as an office boy at the studio.
On interrogation, Ramesh confessed to committing the offence and concealed the gold in his room, the police said, adding that the accused has been arrested under Sections 381 of IPC and remanded to judicial custody.
