Rs 520 crore spent to modernise farming in Andhra Pradesh
Tadepalligudem: Minister for agriculture S. Chandramohan Reddy stated that the state government is according top priority to promote agriculture in a big way by helping the farmers to get modern machinery on subsidy basis.
The minister inaugurated an administrative building built at a cost of Rs 1.1 crore at Dr Y.S.R. Horticulture University in Tadepalligudem in West Godavari on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that as part of mechanisation of agriculture, they had allocated Rs 340 crore in the first phase and an amount of Rs 80 crore in the second phase. He added an additional amount Rs 100 crore will be allocated in the final phase.
He said that they were spending Rs 1,466 crore in the current fiscal for developing horticulture.
