Recommendation will be considered when time comes: KA Sengottaiyan
Chennai: When asked about the Niti Aayog’s recommendation of handing over the non-performing government schools to the private sector, the school education minister K.A. Sengottaiyan said the state government will take a right decision at an appropriate time.
He inaugurated a state level conference for district elementary education officers and assistant elementary education officers on Wednesday here. Speaking to reporters after the function he said, “The state government will soon issue the smart cards to all school students which will help the parents and students to monitor their attendance.”
To provide the ICT based education to all schools the school education department also plans to appoint the computer instructors, he added. “The curriculum committee headed by former vice-chancellor M.Anandakrishnan is finalising the new curriculum and syllabus. Over three years we will entirely change the syllabus for all the classes from 1 to 12,” he said. The minister also assured that the students will be ready to face any national level competitive exam after implementing the new syllabus.
