IIT Kanpur of which he is an alumnus, had conferred the Satyendra K Dubey Memorial Award 2016 upon him for displaying highest professional integrity and honesty while serving his duty.

During his tenure with the SEBI, Dr Abraham had exposed the financial irregularities at the Sahara group and passed an order on June 23, 2011 against the Sahara India Real Estate Corporation (SIREC) and Sahara Housing Investment Corporation (SHIC).
