The mascot painted by artist Reghunth was selected from as many as 100 entries received by the publicity committee.
Actor Alphy Panjikaran on Tuesday released mascot of 67th edition of the Nehru Trophy Boat Race (NTBR) to be held on August 10.
He handed over the image of the mascot- a paddle-wielding duck - to district collector Dr. Adeela Abdulla at function held at the collectorate.
“I don't have luck to watch the NTBR so far and hence would like to make it this time,” Mr Panjikkaran said. “Kuttanad and Alappuzha are two places I love much in Kerala. I had opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Kuttand during shooting of recently-released movie Marconi Mathai.”
