Hyderabad: Missing Pharma girl found at bus station

Soni had gone to Tirupati with a man for job.

Hyderabad: The week-long suspense over the kidnapping of a B Pharma girl student from Hayathnagar concluded with the victim, E. Soni, returning to the city on Tuesday.

Soni, 21, was spotted at the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station at Imlibun early on Tuesday by another girl from her village, who informed Soni’s parents. Police were alerted and they along with Soni’s parents took her into safe custody.

After recording her statements at a police station in Rachakonda limits, she was then shifted to a government hospital for medical examinations.

At about 5.30 am on Tuesday, Mounika, an MBBS student from Mallepally who arrived at MGBS from Adilabad, spotted Soni sitting alone at platform No. 58.

Mounika approached her and inquired about her whereabouts for the last week and the reports of kidnap, and then informed Soni’s parents.

Speaking to the media, Mounika said, “When I asked her about the kidnap report, Soni said she went to Tirupati along with a man for a job voluntarily.”

Mounika said that Soni told her about coming to the city in a bus from Addanki in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh at 3.30 am. The man with whom she was with all these days had made her take the bus to the city. “She (Soni) was sitting alone on platform No. 58. She did not have a phone and said that is why she could not speak to her parents last week. Soni said the man who took her knows her father and she went with him as she was promised a job,” said Mounika.

Mounika said that she has been following the news reports of Soni’s kidnap and showed these to Soni, who then became worried.

Mounika called Soni’s father Yadaiah and informed him about Soni’s presence at MGBS. He in turn informed the police.

Reports emerged that the police teams of Rachakonda have caught Ravi Shekar at Ongole in Prakasam district with the help of Andhra Pradesh police and brought him to the city.

When contacted, Rachakonda police were not available to confirm about the arrest.
