Dindigul: A 16-year-old tenth class student of a boarding school in Kodaikanal was murdered Monday night by his classmate during a petty quarrel Monday night, police said.
According to police, the two boys had an argument at the hostel area of the school, Gandhi Vidyashram, at about 8.30 pm and one of them attacked the other in a fit of rage as he had spoken ill of his brother. He stabbed him on his neck with a pair of scissors and also bludgeoned him to death with a cricket stump. The victim, Kapil Ragavendra, was rushed to the government hospital where doctors declared him 'brought dead'.
The brutality of the murderous attack by a school kid has shaken not just his CBSE residential institution but almost the entire population in the popular hill station. A case of murder has been registered against the assailant and he was sent to a juvenile home pending further legal proceedings, police said.
