GHMC to set up 28-metre led screen

The screen will be used to monitor emergency situations as also day-to-day progress of civic works.

Hyderabad: The GHMC has invited tenders to instal a 10 metre by 28 metre LED screen at the new command control complex at its headquarters. The screen is expect to cost Rs 2.98 crore.

The screen will be used to monitor emergency situations as also day-to-day progress of civic works. Offices of the mayor, commissioner and additional commissioners would be provided with 38 smaller screens.

The corporation would access CCTV footage from across the city using the network of cameras that the police has installed. The GHMC would also set up its own network of CCTV cameras to monitor progress of work at project sites. For this, the civic authorities would equip mobile phones of its staff with an inhouse-developed software when they would be at the project sites.

Senior officials would be able to talk to the field staff via video conference using the facility. The contracted agency would maintain the entire system for five years while the back-end support would be provided by the corporation’s IT wing, according to a GHMC officer.
