RSS worker murder: Congress, CPM pass buck on Manikuttan's allegiance

BJP district president S.Suresh, said that Manikuttan had recently shifted sides to CPM and was party's hired goon.

Thiruvananthapuram: Though police maintained that the murder of RSS leader SL Rajesh was not politically motivated, BJP has accused CPM of the murder. On the other hand, CPM claimed that suspects belonged to various parties adding that the prime accused Manikuttan was a congress worker. "Manikuttan's father was an INTUC activist and a Congress worker. It was local issues that led to the murder and CPM is being targeted," said CPM State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.

However, congress leader MM Hassan was soon to deny this and said that Manikuttan was the left party convener of Edavacode, booth number 144 of Kazhakoottam constituency during the recent assembly election. Meanwhile, BJP district president S.Suresh, said that Manikuttan had recently shifted sides to CPM and was party's hired goon. The right wing parties also came up with several photographs of some accused in the case participating in programmes held by DYFI.
