Hyderabadi makes rogue Elephant return to forest

The elephant is currently at Sahibganj forests at Jharkhand.

Hyderabad: Nawab Shafath Ali Khan from the city has succeeded in leading a rogue elephant that had trampled four people back into the dense forests of Jharkhand.

He was asked by the Bihar government to help after the elephant emerged from the forests and wreaked havoc in the villages in Bihar, leading to the evacuation of four villages and the death of nine people last week.

The elephant is currently at Sahibganj forests at Jharkhand.

Mr Khan said, “It is a tusker that is about 20 years of age. We are planning on tranquilising him after he settles in the forest. Shooting the animal is our last resort.” He stated that the elephant had calmed down.

Mr Khan had also tranquilised a man eater tiger in Maharashtra earlier this month.
