Hyderabad: Woman held with fake currency

Police found that she had come to Hyderabad to take up a job after her husband had died.

Hyderabad: A woman hailing from West Bengal was arrested for attempting to exchange fake currency notes of Rs 2,000 denomination at KPHB on Sunday. The woman's associates, a couple, who lured her for commission escaped from the spot on seeing the police.

The woman was identified as Anuyara Khatun, 42.

On Sunday evening, vendors at the vegetable market in KPHB apprehended a woman on suspicion that she was trying to exchange counterfeit notes of Rs 2,000 and alerted the police.

Police found that she had come to Hyderabad to take up a job after her husband had died.

While she was working as a domestic help two persons, Babur Ali and Suhani, lured her to exchange fake currency for a commission.

Attracted by the offer she agreed and came to the market with two Rs 2,000 notes.

“The vendors became suspicious and caught her. Meanwhile, Babur and Suhani who lured her fled after seeing her being caught,” KPHB inspector Ch Kushalkar said.

A suo motu case was registered under Sections 489-B and 489-C of IPC and a hunt is on to nab the absconding couple.
