Hyderabad: Irrigation minister T. Harish Rao inaugurated the Command, Control Centre at the Siddipet police commissionerate on Sunday.
The minister also launched the Rapid Cop software application for the use of cops in the commissionerate and also inaugurated the Lake Police station at the Komati Cheruvu Mini Tank Bund.
Mr Harish Rao said that all CCTV cameras, traffic junctions and blinkers in the town will be connected to the command, control centre and all movements in these areas will be monitored from the centre. This will helping in crime prevention and detection and will also check anti-social elements.
The Rapid Cop app will work with the Global Positioning System (GPS) using which all police officers and patrol vehicles will be connected and can be alerted immediately in case of need, thereby reducing the time required to reach trouble spots.
The minister also distributed equipment and vehicles to lake police staff and other police wings.
