Expelled BJP leader Dayashankar's wife accused of harassing sister-in-law
Lucknow: The beleaguered family of expelled BJP leader Daya Shankar Singh is now facing trouble from an unexpected quarter. Daya Shankar’s wife Swati Singh is now being accused of harassing her own sister-in-law.
Swati Singh’s sister-in-law (brother’s wife) Asha Singh has accused Swati of using violence on her and throwing her out of their house. Asha accused Swati of using violence on her and said that she had even filed an FIR against her at the Ashiana police station in 2008 but her name was later deleted from the chargesheet under political pressure.
Asha got married to Swati’s brother Puneet Singh in May 2005 and within two months, Swati and other family members started harassing her. In her complaint lodged with the police on August 17, 2008, Asha accused her mother-in- law, Asha Singh, Swati and her father in law, Virendra Kumar Singh of threatening to kill her and her child.
Asha, who presently lives with her two brothers in Neel Mattha locality of Lucknow, said that Swati drove her out of the house and got her brother married to another woman without obtaining divorce. Asha, a commerce graduate from Lucknow University, said that she would now approach chief minister Akhilesh Yadav.
